2. Fluorescent nanoantibodies (DU-Nano) Stem cells biomarkers
Stem cells like mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) can be detected through their biomarkers. Genekam is developing solutions based on nanotechnology so called nanoantibodies (DU-Nano) to detect such biomarkers for stem cells. These nanoantibodies have a number of advantages as they are photostable (so called photobleaching) against the dyes, which bleach within a short time leading to unability to perform the correct assay in flowcytometry or in other instruments. Further they are brighter than dyes and have narrow excitation range and broad emission sprectra. Moreover Genekam products are beyond the state of art. These biomarkers are essential part of detecting the right kind of stem cells otherwise one can have contaminated population of stemcells, which can lead to unwanted results during their therapeutic use as well as other laboratory applications. MSC are immunosuppressive, hence they can be used as therapeutic cellular therapies for cancer and noncancer diseases. These products of Genekam Biotechnology AG have wide applications because they can be used in flow cytometry to detect MSC. MSC can be isolated from different sources like umblical cord blood, peripheral blood, body fat, bone marrow etc.
